Lift in a Public Building

A Beautiful Centrepiece
Because the lift is placed like a beautiful centrepiece, right at the entrance of the public building, it really catches the eye. The lift is flanked by two large blocks of stone and two flights of stairs and is placed in an administrative building of the University of Gothenburg.
Gate on the Upper Level
The gate on the top level preserves the airiness of the space and opens the view towards the glazed entrance. In addition, the gate does not block out the light from the top floor. For those reasons, lifts with a gate on top, are a great option for public buildings with split levels.
Note: According to European Standards, lifts with gates must have a travel of max 3 m.
Elegant Transition
It is thanks to the mix of colours and materials that the design of the entrance comes together so successfully. The vertical blocks of dark stone create an elegant transition between the lift and the stairs on either side.
Wheelchair Accessible Lift
Because of the large platform and other details, such as the elbow button, this is a very wheelchair-friendly lift. The elbow button calls for the lift and opens the doors, so that wheelchair users do not need to back away when the lift door opens. Thanks to this great attention to detail, the entrance of this public building is possible to access for all visitors.
