Lift in an Old Family Home

Fits Like a Glove in the Staircase
The Kalea platform lift in this old family mansion in the small town Fontaine-lès-Dijon in France, fits like a glove inside the custom-built wooden staircase. Thanks to the incredibly compact construction, the lift can adjust to small and otherwise unused spaces, like the centre of a staircase.
Adaptable Lift Design
This is a traditional French family home with large, original beams and ceilings. To maintain maximum flexibility, steel panels finish off the top of the otherwise mostly glazed lift shaft. This a smart choice, because it enables the top of the lift shaft to adapt perfectly to the slanted ceiling on the top floor.
Elegant Lift Doors
The elegant AL5 lift doors in aluminium have panoramic glazing to let the light in. Since this lift is in a dark corner and has a dark colour, doors with panoramic glazing was a wise choice.
Great Choice of Lift Colour
Thanks to the careful design choices, the lift matches the colour palette of this old family home to perfection. The dark graphite grey shade of the lift is indeed a success. Just look at how well ties in with the wood work and metal railings! In fact, you could almost think that the lift has been there forever.
