Service & Lift Maintenance

Why does Your lift need maintenance?
One of the many advantages of our screw-driven lifts is that they are low-maintenance, compared to lifts with other drive systems. However, just like a car, your Kalea lift needs regular checks to make sure that it is running properly and is safe to use.
In addition, regular maintenance will extend the lifetime of your lift, lower your energy consumption and reduce the risk of expensive repairs. In fact, regular maintenance is so important to us that we have made it a condition for our manufacturer’s warranty (minimum 2 years under EU law, variable in other countries).

How often does Your lift need maintenance?
In many countries, the minimum is set to once a year, but that may not be the right maintenance frequency for your lift.
In fact, how often your lift needs to be serviced depends on a wide range of factors, such as the age of the lift, how often it is used, and where it is installed. For example, lifts installed outdoors, or in public spaces, generally need more maintenance than lifts installed in private homes. An older lift may need more service than a recently installed one, and so on. Contact your local Kalea agency or Kalea distributor to get advice on the frequency of service visits that is appropriate for your lift.
Maintenance Contracts Tailored to Your Needs
Given that all Kalea dealers are trained to service and maintain our lifts, they can advice you on what type of contract and maintenance plan that best suits your situation and needs. The most basic contracts include checks of crucial components and lubrication, while more extensive contracts may include services such as 24/7 interventions or interventions within a set time frame.
In general, spare parts and repairs are billed separately.
Reasons to Choose a Kalea Lift Maintenance Contract
The choice of maintenance provider is of course up to you. However, we always advise you to sign a contract with Kalea certified dealer. We give you this advice for several very good reasons:

High-quality maintenance, requires a high level of expertise. Our screw-driven technology is quite unique and Kalea certified technicians have received specific training to maintain our lifts. That means that they have the knowledge to take care of your lift and the certificate to prove it.
Only Original Spare Parts
When you sign a service contract with a certified Kalea dealer, you can rest assured that the lubrication and spare parts used to maintain and repair you lift are of the highest quality. In addition, our certified dealers have better prices on our spare parts than other dealers.

The quality of the maintenance of your lift is important to us. In fact, we will not guarantee the quality of your lift, unless lift maintenance is provided by Kalea certified technicians. This means that if your lift is maintained by a third party, our manufacturer’s warranty no longer applies.

How to Take Care of Your Lift
There are several things you can do yourself to take care of your lift.
Firstly, it is important that you use the lift in the way it was intended. Our screw-driven lifts are very robust and reliable, but they are not designed to run hundreds of times a day. And, if you have bought a lift for passenger transport, but mostly use it for goods, there is a high risk that it will be damaged.
Secondly, it is important that you clean the lift regularly. How often you need to clean it depends on how often it is used and where it is installed (indoor/outdoor, public/private). While the cleaning of mechanical parts should always be performed by a certified lift technican, cleaning the surfaces of the lift is something that you can easily do yourself.
Please consult the User Manual for your elevator to get more information.
Modernise Your Lift
Upgrading and modernising is another great way to maintain your lift. Continuous modernisation will not only improve the look and comfort of your lift. It will also help to extend the lifespan of your lift, which is of great benefit to you, but also to the environment.
Talk to your Kalea dealer about what upgrades and modernisation kits are available for your lift.
